In a world of fast fashion and disposable trends, there was something to be said for getting an affordable piece to spruce up your wardrobe.

My friend went on, “Look, I get that it’s not ethical, but neither is the fact that luxury items are incredibly overpriced and out of reach for most people. For me, fake Gucci is a way I can indulge a little and still save some money. I mean, why should two people with the exact same bag have to have a disproportionate budget?”

As he said this, a strange thought crossed my mind – maybe buying fake Gucci was actually right. Maybe it was the ethical choice? I mean, isn’t it a better use of resources when a larger number of people can have access to the same fashion? This was a whole new perspective I had to consider.
