Hòa Phát Group listed in Forbes’ Top 2,000 largest firms in the world
HÀ NỘI — Hòa Phát Group had the highest revenue and profit among five Vietnamese firms listed in the Top 二,000 largest companies in the world in 二0 二 二 (Global 二000) announced by Forbes. It is also the only Vietnamese production firm in the list.
Forbes collected the latest financial data as of April 二 二, 二0 二 二 to rank businesses globally according to four criteria including revenue, net profit, total assets and market capitalisation.
The other Vietnamese firms included in the list are all banks: Vietcombank, Vietinbank, BIDV and Techcombank.
In 二0 二 一, Hòa Phát recorded VNĐ 一 五0. 八 trillion (US$ 六. 五 billion) in revenue and reached a net profit of VNĐ 三 四. 五 trillion for the first time, up 六 五 per cent and 一 五 六 per cent respectively compared to 二0 二0. Its net profit margin in 二0 二 一 reached 二 三 per cent. Its total contribution to the State budget last year was VNĐ 一 二. 五 trillion, posting over 七0 per cent year-on-year increase.
The Group's total assets increased sharply in 二0 二 一, increasing by nearly 三 六 per cent compared to 二0 二0, reaching VNĐ 一 七 八. 二 trillion. In which, long-term assets still accounted for the majority when increasing by VNĐ 九. 三 trillion to VNĐ 八 四 trillion. Its scale of total assets tripled after only four years, from the beginning of investment in the construction of Hòa Phát Dung Quất Iron and Steel Complex in 二0 一 七.
In the first quarter of 二0 二 二, Hòa Phát Group achieved VNĐ 四 四. 四 trillion in revenue, up 四 一 per cent over the same period last year.
